Description

A great way to add huge size, durable eyes without massive weight. 3D holographic adhesive eyes can be used on the recessed ends of these hourglass eyes to add more pizzazz to your flies. Eyes on recessed ends stay on the fly longer, protected by the metal edges. Quantity per package is 20 pieces for medium, 15 for large and 10 for x-large.

Other Details

Medium size is 1/4" (6.3mm) and takes 7/32" (3.5mm) or smaller 3D eyes. Large is 3/8" (9.5mm) and takes 5/16" or smaller 3D eyes. X-large is 7/16" (11mm) and takes 3/8" (6mm) or smaller 3D eyes.

Size without bulk

I used these eyes to create some streamer flies with large eyes. This product made a much neater looking large eyed fly compared to just glueing large eyes to an epoxy head. The flies were a dream to castas well.

Lightweight eyes

Very nice, I bought the large and they sure are big but very light weight. Almost a plastic feel to them.

great for light saltwater

Reviewer: A viewer from Bamberg, SC US

I use these eyes in medium on a size 2 mustad signature for my redfish streamers. Light enough to allow the streamer to ride hook down and give me the action I want. At least a dozen Reds this year on flies using these eyes. Calls for a 7/32 or smaller adhesive eye, but the 7/32 3d doesn't fit well within the rim of the aluminum eye - use a 5/32 instead.

Great for saltwater and bass

Reviewer: A viewer from Bamberg, SC US

Used these eyes on both saltwater and warmwater patterns. In combination with 3D eyes they are absolutely deadly. Added them to seaducers, zonker patterns, and other streamers and have taken Big Redfish & Seatrout in saltwater and Smallmouth & Largemouth in fresh. Have seen fish charge from 10' out in clear conditions. Allows a big eyed fly to swim hook down on a size 2 or larger. An absolute must in my fly tying box from now on.

Better than lead

Reviewer: A viewer from Carbondale, IL US

I love using these over lead eyes. These aluminum eyes allow you to have larger eyes on your flies without the added weight. Ive also found that when fishing in a slower current they "hover" a little better in the water column before sinking after you strip the fly. Ive had a lot of success catching smallmouth bass and trout on flies using these eyes.
