Bought the small size for tying trout flies. Works well, no longer have the wife staring at me from the other room when I bang the stacker on the table. It appears to be built to last. Recommend

I used to think that all hair stackers are created equal, but after years of using a cheap, aluminum stacker, I finally decided to plunk down the cash for a better stacker, and I picked up the medium size from Dr. Slick. The difference is like night and day. Quality construction, heavy weight and rubber padding all add up to much better results. Buy one of these and you won't be disappointed.
Dr. Slick Quality

These are quality hair stackers you can expect from Dr. Slick. I purchased them to replace my economy stacker. Nice brass construction with a padded bottom. The inside diameter was just a little smaller than I had expected for a medium size.
Great for kip (calf) tail

I've always had trouble stacking calf tail... the krinkly hair is difficult to even. With the small stacker, you can apply a greater force and get a nice compact grouping with as even tips as you can expect with this material.
SMAL Dr. Slick Hair Stacker

I am a fairly new to fly tying; however enjoy tying the smallest of Dry-Flies. Noticing I needed a hair stacker, I did a little research and found Mr. Slick to be a quality piece of equipment. Upon inspecting it from the packaging I found it to be a well crafted with the durability to last a few life times. The small hair stacker is more than enough for the size 16 to 20 elk hair caddis flies I tie. You will not be disappointed by this purchase.
