Buy the Danvise and companion extension arm together and save! In a design that has been emulated by other companies, the Danvise allows alignment of the hook shank with the axis of rotation, so that when rotated with the crank handle, the shank remains stationary. The jaws hold hooks ranging from size 28 up to 2/0 securely. The vise stem has a diameter of 10mm (0.393 inch) and is adjustable up to a full 6 1/2 inch and has a C-clamp base. A bobbin rest and instruction DVD are included. This bundle also includes the innovative Danvise extension arm, which gives you another several inches of working room around the tail of the fly - perfect for tying streamers and tube flies. NOTE: The extension arm cannot be adjusted for left-handedness.

I purchased this vice as my first ever! Nice to have a rotary vise to work with. The extension arm is great! although ive never used the regular. I don't enjoy the table clamp much as i cant a heck of a lot of bite on my tying table but its never slipped yet. Lots of plastic in this unit but i don't see any weak areas. For a first vise, defiantly worth it!

This vise is a solid value and I am very happy with the purchase. That said, the polymer body takes a little getting used to as it feels a little cheap. Depending on the amount of pressure you apply when tying, you can feel the slight bend...especially with the extension arm. After you get working on it, you realize it is strong and very light. I did consider the HMH Spartan and feel I will eventually upgrade to a machined steel vise, which is just my personal preference. I have no doubt the Danvise would last a lifetime if it needed to. Also, the extension arm is a must!

This vise does everything I need. I tie mostly small trout flies and this holds small hooks great. The rotary function works good, but the extension arm I received is a little crooked. I find that I don't use the extension arm very often. I also like being able to insert the jaws into the rotary part without the angle arm for working on clousers and other larger flies.

As a novice tyier this vise has everything I need and has been a good investment. I would have given it 5 stars but I found the extension arm not to have a very solid feel and ended up removing it. I read reviews elsewhere that people had problems adjusting the jaws or complaining that the jaws did not hold small hooks firmly -- absolutely no problems here.
Best and lightest vise I've every owned!

This vise is made out a tough heavy duty phenolic material. I've been using this type of material in military applications for it's light weight and durability for years and it lasts. This vise completely surprised me with it's versatility. It spins, it hold hooks tight when fitted properly, it's totally adjustable for the smallest trout hook to big game saltwater flies. It's easy to pack and easy to set up anywhere. I don't go anywhere without it and recommend it always to everyone.
