In a design that has been emulated by other companies, the Danvise allows alignment of the hook shank with the axis of rotation, so that when rotated with the crank handle, the shank remains stationary. The jaws hold hooks ranging from size 28 up to 2/0 securely, and the vise stem is adjustable up to a full 6 1/2" and has a C-clamp base. A bobbin rest and instruction DVD are included. This bundle also includes the innovative Danvise extension arm, which gives you another several inches of working room around the tail of the fly - perfect for tying streamers and tube flies. NOTE: The extension arm cannot be adjusted for left-handedness.

What a fantastic rotary vise!

Reviewer: A viewer from New Braunfels, TX US

I purchased this for my husband and he is delighted with his new vise. It seemed a perfect match, he is from Denmark and so is the vise. It is very lightweight but has ALL the features of the more expensive vises. I ordered a Peak vise for myself but I think the Danvise is easier to use (especially with the hook adjusting). You can order a pedestal base for this online if you want one. We did. It is VERY reasonably priced and even comes with a handy DVD that explains all about how to use the rotary and other features.
You can't go wrong with purchasing this vise. It is a great buy and a great vise. J. Stockard was a great company to deal with. We got the vise in a very short time. Highly recommend.

Solid Value

Reviewer: A viewer from Austin, Texas US

This vise is a solid value and I am very happy with the purchase. That said, the polymer body takes a little getting used to as it feels a little cheap. Depending on the amount of pressure you apply when tying, you can feel the slight bend...especially with the extension arm. After you get working on it, you realize it is strong and very light. I did consider the HMH Spartan and feel I will eventually upgrade to a machined steel vise, which is just my personal preference. I have no doubt the Danvise would last a lifetime if it needed to. Also, the extension arm is a must!
