Pearsall silk is made with long fiber raw Chinese silk, a traditional thread that is used by both fly tyers and rod makers. In fly–tying applications, it offers better translucency, iridescence and color when wet. Just use some colored thread like red, olive, or orange as a base layer and add white silk overtop. When it gets wet, the silk is transluscent and the base color shows through. The fish go nuts! I use this for rod wrapping and although its not as strong as many nylon threads i prefer it because the result is so much smoother and "thighter" with this silk thread.
