Makes great fly bodies — the next generation beyond Larva Lace and a great substitute for D–rib. It makes your nymphs even more effective if filled with mineral or baby oil by means of a syringe (see below). Tubing that is oil–filled will not flatten, even when stretched or wrapped. The oil–filled tube is like a magnifying lens for underlayers and incident light, and adds a depth and translucency underwater that really brings life to any pattern. Tapered profile and smaller sizes can be created by stretching the material when tying in. Use only with water–based head cements as the lace may react with solvents. 44″ of lace per package. Other Details: Choose from medium size (approx. 1mm diameter) for patterns on sizes 14 or larger, and midge size (approx. 0.6mm) for patterns on hook sizes 16 or smaller. 2 extra sizes of clear - Large size is great for minnow or bonefish patterns like Crazy Charlies, and micro size is perfect for midges and other dry flies down to size 28 or 30 when the material is stretched to make it thinner. After purchasing Liquid Lace, take it to a pharmacy and ask for a 27G ½″ long needle (for midge size, 29G), 3 ml syringe and also purchase some baby or mineral oil. Fill the syringe with oil, insert the needle in one end of the lace and inject the oil until it comes out the other end. Tie or clamp one end off and now you are ready to start tying.
