I am not sure what qualifies as high quality foam, but I would guess it is something like the Hareline Thin Fly Foam. I use mine both for hoppers as well as small strips to build up small dry fly bodies. I picked up the variety pack and love all the colors. Floats high and pretty much impossible to sink. Add a little spray adhesive the two sheets that come in the pack stick together and you twice the thickness perfect for grasshopper patterns.
