I'm not sure if the fish are specifically attracted to it or not, but the pattern nails fish. They usually smack the fly hard w/o hesitation. I use a 1 inch piece looped under the hook gulper style as a post on my parachute emergers. For flys smaller than size 16, divide the yarn in half. Black posts are surprisingly visible on the water when glare is an issue.
