It is equivalent to a 4/0 thread compared to Gossamer’s 6/0 size, so it covers with fewer winds and gives a little more texture to the wrap. The colors are a great compliment to bamboo rods, for either restoration or a new rod in the traditional style. Jasper color is variegated black and orange, but the orange looks like camel brown. I have found that using an PU Varnish (like Perma Gloss) on the silk gives me better results than the normal finishing epoxies though.
