It prevents the penetration of soils, body oil and other materials and therefore preserves that " cork feel." It also toughens the cork to aid in the prevention of sloughing and chipping of the cork surface. U–40 Cork Seal soaks into the cork and seals in depth. Once it is dry, dirt and grime are easily washed off with soap and water. 2 oz. size. It darkens the cork very slightly, but I really liked the look. Does not make the grip shiny, keeps the dull look you want. The feel is less velvety than untreated cork, but that's a good thing too.
