The assembly maintains steady tension on the wrapping thread for perfect wrapping, and the knurled knob makes adjustment of the tension quick and easy. Other Details: To mount the tension adjuster on your rod wrapper, drill a 3/16″ hole to a depth of ¼″ in the base., positioned between the thread spool and the thread guide. A turn of thread is placed around the center post between the 2 metal disks and the pressure of the disks on the thread is adjusted by tightening the knurled nut. If you are going to make your own hand wrapper you want one of these. This is by far the best $7 I have ever spent. This provides the same tension guide ofer guide no matter what guide you are wrapping from the base of the rod to the tip. I have tried everything before this and now wish I would have gotten this at the start of my rod wrapping.
