Berglund (moobear@netzero.com) from Rockford, IL US The Pac Bay Hand Rod Wrapper is quite user friendly and the thread-tensioning set up is very reliable and infinately adjustable. The materials of construction are the weak point. The base board with the drilled holes is made of some kind of particle-board material with a woodlike veneer. The metal pegs in the bases of the upright v-blocks are simply rounding out the holes in the much softer base board. With each new rod project the wobble gets more pronounced and the blank support less stable. If you only build a rod or two per year, you may not see this for years to come. I average three a month. If Pac Bay offered this unit with a real hardwood base or perhaps with corresponding metal collars in the base holes it would be more durable. I like the unit but it has just worn out too quickly...
