J. Stockard Rubber Bands for Guide Wrapping

Rubber Bands for Guide Wrapping

by: J. Stockard

Item #: OR-001059-0000

Product Overview:

These orthodontic latex rubber bands are a handy alternative to guide adhesive or masking tape for holding guides, especially single foot guides, in place on the rod blank while beginning the wrap. Once the wrap covers most of the foot so the guide is secure, you can cut the rubber band to remove it and finish the wrap. The pure latex elastics are available in either 3/16″ inside diameter (before stretching) with a force of 4.5 oz. or a lightweight 1/8″ size with 2.5 oz. force. Available in packages of 15 or 100 elastics.

4 out of 5 stars I was surprized 00/00/0000
Reviewer: Robert Butt (fatsixer2000@yahoo.com) from Nampa, ID US
I bought these thinking what the heck they will not work but if they do good. Was I ever surprized. These things are awesome. Cuts my wrapping time in half. No problems with the wraping the first guide through the last. No masking tape to remove as I wrap in fact you have almost every inch of the wrap done and then cut the rubber band off. If you are getting frustrated with glue or tape definately give them a try you will love them

4 out of 5 stars I hate guide alignment 00/00/0000
Reviewer: Luke Winkler (winkler_luke@yahoo.com) from Nekoosa, WI US
If I could do away with one part of rod building, it would be aligning the guides. These do help out, and for the almost negligible cost are the best way I've found to temporarily secure guides.

4 out of 5 stars Goodbye to masking tape 00/00/0000
Reviewer: Magnus Nystroem (magnus.nystroem@gmail.com) from Enkoping, Uppland SE
These rubber bands are great and have made my wrapping much easier! No tape that gets stucked in the guidefoot or leave glue markes. Instead have your scissors glose and cut the bands and they fall of and you´re ready to wrap againg....

1 out of 5 stars I found these difficult to use 00/00/0000
Reviewer: Philip Fowler from Acton, IN US
After using glue for several years I found these rubber bands to be difficult to use. With glue the guide stays where I put it; however, with these rubber bands I am constantly realigning my guides.

2 out of 5 stars To Large for my application... 00/00/0000
Reviewer: Wes Mendenhall (wes8215@aol.com) from Flowery Branch, GA US
I bought these to use on a 7'6" 4wt blank that I was working on and the rubber bands were to large for the blank. I ended up using tape to place the guides. Maybe on a larger rod blank they would work better.
