4 out of 5 stars Sensitive yet strong 08/02/2008

As a medical doctor, the use of these types of forceps is very normal, from gripping the suture needle to clamping off bleeding veins and arteries. The advantage of the tool is that it is very strong, yet does not create too much damage to the materials you may clamp on to. Furthermore, if required to de-hook fish, then it is strong enough to do so without damaging the fish too much. This is typical of the type of forceps or haemostats used in surgical theatres. Very close to the medical quality.

Forceps make crimping barbs on hooks very easy. I take them fishing all the time and use them to assist in getting the hook out of a fish's mouth.
