NORVISE NORVISE

NORVISE

by: NORVISE

Item #: OF-903500-0000

Product Overview:

The NORVISE is designed to "spin" the hook to apply material with the hook shank held in perfect alignment with the axis of rotation - it works like a lathe and provides for better thread tension control and more precise material placement. Precision ball bearings and heavy brass hubs allow spinning with minimal effort and steady speed. The NORVISE with Thread Post (for resting thread while spinning material), instructional DVD and mounting hardware are included. Choose model with small straight jaws, the "standard" configuration for all-around great performance, or with fine point jaws for tying mainly very small flies like midges and scuds. Made in USA. Overweight item - shipping surcharge will be applied for international or expedited shipping.

Other Details:

A base is NOT included with this vise. You may choose a Nor-Vise Mounting Board (see link below), or you can make your own with the same dimensions (see "Other Details" on the product page for the Mounting Board). Video clips showing the Nor-Vise (and featuring Norm Norlander) in action can be found at http://www.youtube.com/user/norvise.

5 out of 5 stars No Vise like Nor-Vise for me 00/00/0000
Reviewer: Eugene A. DuClos from Cary, NC US
>> There is no vise like it! Let me save you some time on your research for a vise. If you are serious about tying flies, you can Google the vise(s) that you are interested in and read all the forums, for months like those that I did before purchasing the “best vise for the money” only to exchange it soon after for this vice…like I did. Or, you can just get it now and move on to picking out your material. I am a returning tie flier…like you haven’t said that once or twice…and I research thoroughly when I am going to purchase anything that cost a lot of money…I have a special someone monitoring my every purchase;-) >> Comparing the vises on the market from a quality, versatility, and durability perspective versus cost, this is the vise to own. >> I bought the Nor-vise bobbin separately with the vise I returned…buy the vise and bobbing together. Get the extra box of Nor-vise bobbin spools, they’re worth it. >> There is a bit of a learning curve, especially with the bobbin retracting the !@# thread all the time but the benefits of this bobbin certainly out ways the efficiency of the bobbin once you learn to use the automatic recoil of the bobbin to your advantage. >> Go to www.nor-vise.com and watch the video. Warning…Norm Norlander is a retired Engineer. Do not expect a flamboyant video.

Awsome rotating vice for the price. alot of the others are alot more expensive tan this one. A lot of fly shops in michigan have these vices for there tying purposes, i always look at there fly tying bench to figure out what the best is and this is obviously one of them.

Reviewer: Kevin Bruyn from Pine Bush, NY US
I absolutly love this vise, I find that it works for all types of flies. No major learning curve needed to master this vice. This vice does allow you to increase overall production just because of the speed and style. Quality mechanically is nothing but the best and Nor-vise customer service is absolutly excellent !
