Cliff's Bugger Barn
by: Cliff Outdoors
SKU: OF-903130-0000

Product Overview:

Finally, a monster box to handle a boat load of large files (streamers, poppers, saltwater patterns). The Bugger Barn™ has major capacity, but what makes the box is the unique material. The slots cut into the material really grip a hook. To load, simply back the hook into a slot and it is held securely. To remove, just back the hook out. No rips or tears like regular "foam". Fish it hard, because it loves abuse. (inside dimensions 8 ¾″ X 4 3/8″ X 1 3/8″)

4 out of 5 stars Great box 08/06/2008

This is a great fly box. It holds a ton of streamer patterns. I would have given it 5 stars if it was a bit bigger in thickness to handle really large poppers.

Finally a place that sells bugger barns. I put in a request on a forum about one or two weeks ago and J.Stockard already got them! I was having a hard time finding these on the internet with reasonable shipping costs. I will definately be buying mine from here!

5 out of 5 stars Makes a Bass fisherman smile 00/00/0000

Before I found these, my favorite fly box was a waterproof box by CF Designs with the micro-slits that they do so well. That box is great for smaller flies like pheasant tails, hares ears, princes, spiders, other terrestrials and dry flies. But I found that when I loaded streamers and buggers, the micro-slits hold the flies for a while but then they don't hold so well due to the larger hooks. And then I met Cliff at a fly show in the Chicago suburbs, saw the bugger barn and I was sold. I now own two of these. One is laid out with woolly buggers and similar patterns with dumbell eyes and or rubber legs on the right. On the left it has smaller poppers, crayfish patterns and larger terrestrial patterns. The second box has a wide variety of clousers on the left. And on the right it has several minnow patterns (like Muddlers and Sparkle Minnows) and a variety of leeches (Bunny leeches, Maribou leeches) and other patterns with rabbit strip types of tails. The slits in these boxes hold flies nicely. It took a while to figure out the best arrangement, but I am quite happy now. The boxes are easy to open and close and they fit very nicely in the pockets of my fishing vest. I intend to pick up another bugger barn for some of the larger streamers and such that I use when I get those rare chances to fish saltwater or to go after bigger fish like Pike or Musky. For the larger flies typically used by a bass fisherman, these boxes are great!

5 out of 5 stars Bugger Barn 00/00/0000
Reviewer: Richard Essegian (seege613@aol.com) from Fort Wayne, IN US
I was looking for a box to carry streamers and streamers only. This thing holds them all except maybe the larger deer hair flies that I have with weed guards. I Probably have 60-70 patterns in this box during the season. The construction is great with the feature of slotted foam making the flies stay snugly in place. This box allows me to carry several patterns at one time that I do not want to be with out. I love this thing Richard

5 out of 5 stars Lotsa room for your buggers! 00/00/0000

Just the ticket for all your Wooly Buggers! Cliff makes a number of practical, competitively-priced items. The Bugger Barn is pretty big (8" long)...a couple inches longer than their Big Cliff fly box at 6". It certainly holds more stuff but I kinda wish that it was the same size as the Big Cliff. That being said, it definitely does what it's intended to do - in a big way!
