The hackle pliers are cheap and i bought a new pair after a day. The instruction book is awful; I bought a new book as well. The kit does not come with a whip finisher and after reading the book you will wish you had one. The feathers and hair are alright but I would have been better off buying a good book and talking to the guys in the fly shop asking them to put together products that I will need and use based on the book that I bought, not the one that came with the kit. The book rymes with Torvis. [J. Stockard reply - we present this review in the interest of fairness, but it is the only negative response we have had so far on this kit. Admittedly, the tools in any beginner's kit are inexpensive to keep the total kit price affordable.
