The extra large pedestal base makes the vise as steady as a rock. The jaws hold the hook sturdier than my Renzetti, and you can change the tension on the rotary shaft by just turning one knob. I own Thompson and Renzetti vises, but none of them provide the tying pleasure I get from my Dyna-King Barracuda vise. The Dyna-King Barracuda is well worth the money.
