If you have a danvise I am sure you have noticed that you don't have the clearance behind the fly that you need. This gives you plenty of room. I used to hate tying bass bugs on my danvise before I got this extension, now I have no problems! The only thing that I didn't like about the arm is that it kind of renders the material clip useless, but that is of minor concern. I was having challanges with the vise jaws being so close to the body of the vise that I couldn't comfortablly reach down to the hook to apply tying materials.
