Danvise
by: Danica
SKU: OF-900805-0000

Product Overview:

This vise was one of the first true rotary vises to break the $100 price barrier, and has won a loyal following. In a design that has been emulated by other companies, the Danvise allows alignment of the hook shank with the axis of rotation, so that when rotated with the crank handle, the shank remains stationary. The jaws hold hooks ranging from size 28 up to 2/0 securely, and the vise stem is adjustable up to a full 6 ½″ and has a C–clamp base. A bobbin rest and instruction DVD are included.

Other Details:
The vise stem diameter measures 10 mm (just over 25/64″), and vise accessories made for 3/8″ stems such as bases, trim bags and stem–mounted lights may not fit this vise.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Value 10/08/2009
Reviewer: Philip Metz (philip.metz@genworth.com) from Palatine, IL US
I've had pricier vises in the past and not been as satisfied as with my Danica Danvise. I've tied everything from size 22 midges to large saltwater patterns and not been disappointed with the quality. I'm sure some other more expensive vises offer great features, but for a no nonsense, get it done, vice, you simply can't beat the Danvise. Great buy!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Starting vise 09/07/2009
Reviewer: Devin Clark (DCBuckeyeguy77@gmail.com) from SC USA
I won this vise in a contest a few months ago and it is great! Wounderful beginning vise that holds a large range of hook sizes securely. The only let down is the space behind the jaw (which they make an extension for).

4 out of 5 stars Best for Price 08/07/2009
Reviewer: Tommy Baxter (grousecreekflies@etex.net) from Holly Lake Ranch, TX US
I have several vises and this one works just as good as the others. I tie thousands of flies and the only thing I would improve on this one are the jaws. I have worn out two pair due to heavy use. Other than that it holds up and works as fine as the more expensive vises.

1 out of 5 stars Not a solid platform to work on 06/15/2009
Reviewer: Chris Stiles (adktroutonafly@yahoo.com) from Chestertown, NY US
I bought this vice through JS Stockard 18 months ago. It has been below average at best. The clamp flexes as well as the arm with the extension. The machine work is poorly fit and the plastic components are well, plastic. I reset the jaws on a wet stone after about a years use, then last week the plastic threaded shaft on the main stem broke on the inside where the bearings are. I guess you get what you pay for. Save yourself the money and aggrivation and buy something made from better materials and workmanship. Disappointing.

4 out of 5 stars Danica or other all steel ??? 03/05/2009
Reviewer: GABRIEL from BOURGES, 18000 BOURGES FR
After regarding a lot of product, i finally choose the danica for its price. Yes you can say an all steel is more beautifull...or less expensive when it is make in india... but, after receiving the danica.. the plastic is not a problem, the head is in Steel... the receiver is strong... it's a good investment that i compare to expensive product. I put four stars beacause if the danica is "all steel" i put five stars ! (but after the price is more: compromise
