The arms provide a great amount of tension, for a sure grip, however, it has a tendency to break the stem of the feather virtually every time. I have not used a rubber sleeved hackle plier, but I plan to order one to eliminate this problem. I am a fan of budget priced equipment, but this tool is too much hassle for me.
