These are some of the best hackle pliers I have found. The have an incredible grip with the rubber interior as well as a delicate touch. Definitely worth the purchase.

The name says it all. I have had big problems in the past with hackle slipping from my pliers. I used to use english style hackle pliers until I received my new pair of non-skid pliers from J. Stockard. They are great. The rubber and corrugated gripping surfaces, along with strong tension keep the hackle locked in place. The only way you will loose a hackle feather with these pliers is if you break it. I love em.

I believe these are modeled after the old Thompson hackle pliers. They're great since they don't crush the hackle stem yet give a secure grip by the little non-slip pads.

I have always had problems pulling the hackle off or breaking it off with all the hackle pliers I have ever used, but NOT this pair. They do what you want them to do, hold on. I think I have found the pair I will use for the rest of my life. Very good tool.
