Sure you can get away without cementing the shank but as I’ve proven to myself, and my customers, time and time again taking the extra step and using Griff’s Thick Multi Coat on the shank will make that fly last through twice as many fish. I put a little on to secure the head and it comes out looking chalky white on the thread. Wasnt a fan. Good for under body work and thats all Ill use it for.
