2 out of 5 stars Get what you pay for I guess 00/00/0000
Reviewer: A viewer from Greenville, SC US
The #3 rooster neck has very stiff hackle stems that want to twist when winding. It also has less than desirable barb count and most of the feather must be trimmed to get a desirable hackle. Lesser grade dry fly hackles are good for parachutes but in this case the stiff stem makes it a bit tricky. Bottom line, you get what you pay for.

3 out of 5 stars Tailing, quills and wooley bugger hackle 00/00/0000
Reviewer: Hot Tuna from Chester, CT US
As a previous viewer noted these necks do not have the most supple quil but can be very useful to have on the bench. I have a supply of these #3's that I use for tailing....that's right these necks still have spade hackles on them. You can also use the larger hackles for wooley buggers and stripped quills. Everything is relative...go back 25 years and people would be dying for these necks. They're a good deal.
