Product Overview:

With a little celestial guidance, RIO® has created the OutBound™ Integrated Shooting Taper. With this line, the average freshwater or saltwater caster can launch casts far, far, away to the previously unreachable. Designed to load high performance rods quickly with few false casts because the 37.5 ft head is heavier than the AFTMA standards. The supple, coldwater Powerflex core and coating, combined with a taper design unique to each model, plus a thin tangle-free running line, ensure the longest flight time for unearthly casts. Sizes WF13 and WF14 are designed for 11 WT and 12 WT two-handed spey rods. Available in 5 models from floating and intermediate heads with floating running lines to DC Type 3, DC Type 6 and DC Type 8 sinking heads with intermediate sinking running lines.  The lines include welded loops on both ends and are color-coded for sink rate. Available: Floating in sizes WF5F &Mdash; WF12F • Color: Yellow/Green; Intermediate in sizes WF5F/I — WF12F/I • Color: Yellow/Clear; Type 3 Sink in sizes WF6S3 — WF10S3 • Color: Yellow/Brown; Type 6 Sink in sizes WF6S6 — WF10S6 • Color: Gray/Dark Gray; Type 8 Sink in sizes WF6S8 — WF10S8 • Color: Green/Black

5 out of 5 stars Rio Outbound 00/00/0000

Best line I have ever used. In fact I was casting to far. I fish a narrow deep river and the fist few cast landed way down stream on the opposite side of the bank. Its like taming a run away horse. Sooner or later I am going to rig up my 9 and 10 weights for the salt. Then that wild horse can run free.

4 out of 5 stars Match to your rod 00/00/0000

This line is the tool for the job if you need to fling heavy flies a great distance. It's weight loads your rod well so you don't have to work-out or carry much line to cast far. If you are doing pitch-and-strip fishing with clousers and zonkers, which is what I do on my large, open smallmouth river, this is what you need. HOWEVER: if you have a medium fast to medium action rod, get one line size DOWN from what your rod is rated. I talked to the RIO people and this is what they suggested for my VT2 8 weight. They make the head a full 2 sizes heavier than standard. If you have a saltwater type rod or an XP,Xi2, GLX, S3, TiCr, or CPS, the stated weight will turn your fly rod into a fly launcher.
