You will not find a stronger hook or a sharper one right out of the package. The strength of the hooks is unparallelled, and will perform for any fish you attempt to take on - trout, bass, steelhead, salmon - none are too much for TMC hooks. I feel using a bit longer shank also helps to add a small something extra when fishing nymphs in a pressured fishery. Tiemco hooks are sharp and a premium in strength. I finally ordered some Tiemcos and found out immediately why a large majority of veteran tyers use them. You can see and feel their superior quality even as you take them out of the package.
