The wire in these guides measures just 0.71 mm (0.028″), up to 1/3 less than regular guides. The main advantage of thin wire guides is a reduction in the weight of the rod near the tip where it is most critical. The stripping guides of this set are our standard stripping guides and feature Hardloy aluminum oxide rings. All guides have a high quality, durable finish and pre–ground feet. I use mostly JS thin wire guides anyways, and this set saves some cash compared to buying guides individually. Gets 4 stars rather than 5 because you can't customize the components.
