It is just right for a 4-6 weight fly rod. On smaller rods take a look at the Struble D-20. The Nickel Silver plating is durable enough to last a lifetime. All of my struble nickel silver reel seats have remained as shiny as when I purchased them. Other brands of nickel silver reel seats have tarnished after a few years. I suspect that they were made of lesser quality materials as nickel silver shouldn't tarnish. Another great feature of the struble seat is that the wood insert is round.
