Cork Fly Rod Grip Reverse Half Wells

Product Overview:

Made from high quality Portuguese cork, our J. Stockard grips are economical, yet still deliver top quality. Our Reverse Half Wells Grip has a length of 7″ (6.5″ also available with 0.76″ inletting), and a 0.25″ bore, in a choice of either standard style (no inletting for a recessed reel seat) or inletted in any of several diameters. Available in Super or A grades of cork; the A grade has somewhat more pitting and variations in color than the Super grade, but both grades are quite good.

Other Details:
Select 0.760″ inletting to match with recessed J. Stockard U3 reel seats or Pacific Bay UL3 reel seats; 0.810″ inletting to match with recessed J. Stockard BUL5 reel seats; 0.850″ inletting to match with recessed J. Stockard A5 or Struble U–3 reel seats; and 0.865&Prime to match the YFLY window reel seat.
Grips with 0.865&Prime inletting have composite cork trim; to see an image of this grip, select that style.

This handle has nice cork and a good feel to it. Just be careful ordering with the large inlet, the wall ends up very thin and cracks easily. Some extra epoxy repaired the crack when I attached it to the blank and it looked like it had never been cracked.

This is my favorite grip. I like some character in the cork, and for this price I feel like they are a bargain. I used the .850 inlet grip on a seat with an OD of .864 with no extra work and no breaking issues, but be careful with the thin cork wall as I can see how it may crack.

After accidently breaking a grip puchased elsewere I needed a replacement. I was pleased at how fast JS shipped my items and the quality of this grip which was HALF as much as i paid the first time.
