The red/orange/yellow color combination works well at dusk and is also a good producer for early spring browns. The "Rusty’s Spey" is named for local tyer Rusty Kalmbach who helped develop the color scheme. This fly is responsible for some of the most memorable fish that John has ever caught including a bright chrome steelie that slammed this fly! This is also a very effective color combination for fresh Salmon. Strikes on these speys are not subtle, a very exciting fly to fish with! Tied on a Daiichi 2441 salmon hook.
