These 4–piece SC V travel blanks are built of high-modulus/high-strain graphite and deliver greater strength without sacrificing fishing performance. They are the same blanks used in St. Croix’ Legend Elite production rods, with list prices of $500 and up. These blanks will produce a quick–loading rod with ″fast–plus″ action that casts with unbelievable ease and accuracy. I have built this blank in 6 and 8 weight. If I am in the mood for a fast rod then these are the fastest in my collection. The color is kinda funky and it took me a while to puzzle out which thread to use. Garnet is a great color with the deep metallic brown of the blank. The gudebrod light brown without color preserver matches closely; however, it is not a perfect match. Apparently St Croix uses a custom thread color on their production models.
