Carl Pennington is a life long resident of the Colorado Front Range. He is an avid fly tier and angler with over 20 years experience in the Rocky Mountain region. Living in the same area code as the likes of John Barr, A.K. Best, Charlie Craven, Pat Dorsey and Landon Mayer has helped Carl develop a keen sense of what works and how best to tie each and every pattern. Carl’s home water is the South Platte River where most of his time is spent hunting the Cheeseman Canyon rainbows which are rumored to have PhDs in the art of avoiding even the most realistic flies. Carl was a category winner in the 2007 FlyTyingForum.com Fly Tier of the Year Contest. Carl lives in Lakewood with his wife and three children.
