I tie my own furled leaders and this stuff works great as an addition to making a floating leader. Just soak the leader in the solution for the recomended time and let dry. And the leader will float forever. Also works great on flies as well.

Used this on an Elk Hair Caddis and even after catching a few fish the fly still floated well even though I didn't dry the fly or clean it. Will use this on all my dry fly's from now on. One minor negative is that it seems to lighten the color of the fly but that seems to go away when the fly gets just a little water on it.

I've used Hydrostop to soak natural material dries & it works just fine. However, after tying a dozen #18 Royal Wullfs, I used it, and when dry, the red floss had all turned to a VERY dark brown. Not good. Not a happy camper maker after so much intensive tying labor. Natural material: OK. Any thread or floss body elements, BEWARE.

I put this on a few of my dries as the bottle instructed and I was very impressed! Kept my flies floating longer than other treatments I've used in the past. Eliminates the need for most on-stream desiccants, a must have!

I use this product to soak yarn strike indicators and hair mice patterns. There are other soak in the jar type of floatants, but I think Hydrostop lasts the longest.

This stuff is great. Just give it a bath and let dry. Works great and your leaders, flies, etc. will float without needing to reaply.
