New at J Stockard! Ahrex Hooks have their roots in the Scandinavian fly-fishing tradition. These anglers and the waters they fish have inspired the company to create hooks made without compromise. Though designed by Scandinavian fly-fishermen, Ahrex hooks are now fished all over the world. Here at J Stockard we are now offering a broad range of Ahrex hooks:
The Nordic Salt series was initially aimed at the Scandinavian saltwater scene, with the sea trout (sea run brown) as the main target. As soon as the NS hooks hit the market they were welcomed by fly tyers and fly fishermen all around the globe and in the US they are used for bass, panfish and freshwater trout. We’re stocking eight different NS styles.
The Predator series is designed to meet the challenge of targeting large predators like northern pike, musky and bass on the fly rod. All hooks are strong and razor sharp – and you find models for surface bugs as well as regular stingers and even Texas style hooks for weedless fly designs. Some of the smaller sizes from this series are great for large trout streamers as well. We’re stocking seven different PR styles.
The Trout Predator series was developed to address the streamer scene created by fly tyers like Kelly Galloup, Russ Maddin and Tommy Lynch who have pushed streamer fly tying in new and innovative directions. The way we fish for large predatory trout is now much more aggressive and we target them with much bigger flies. Ahrex worked with Swedish fly tyer Andreas Andersson to design their TP streamer hooks.
